Meet RentMoola: Asher The Babe Ruth Of Customer Success Management

Nestled in the heart of downtown Vancouver and downtown Toronto, RentMoola team members can be found performing a variety of different roles that make RentMoola the well-oiled machine that it is today.

RentMoola “opened for business” in 2013 with three powerhouses behind the wheel: Patrick Postrehovsky, Co-Founder and CEO, Phillipp Postrehovsky, Co-Founder and COO, and Andrew McLeod, CSO.

RentMoola now boasts nearly 30 employees in our Vancouver and Toronto offices to make sure that our product is the very best that it can be, and to make sure that our users have the Cadillac of customer experiences.

One by one, we’re excited to introduce our team members. Each member of our team is here not only because they’re ridiculously talented–but because they love what they do.

Asher joined RentMoola in March 2015 in our Toronto office as our Director of Customer Success, where he crushes it day in and day out. Each day hustle to convert RentMoola members into RentMoola users.
Asher joined our team with a fresh take on how to turn an old system (writing rent checks) into a new system (paying rent online) and he’s been absolutely slaying it. Rolling right along in our Meet RentMoola series we’re happy to introduce our favourite baseball watchin’, music festival goin’ Director of Customer Success, Asher!
1. What about RentMoola appealed to you as a place to work?
I was first interested in RentMoola because it is a forward looking business that solves a real problem in a marketplace that needs modern solutions to outdated problems.
2. Give us a brief description of your previous employment experience before joining the RentMoola team. How did that lead you to your current role?
I began my account management/customer success career at a company that unfortunately no longer exists called Gift Network. Gift network was an online market place for boutique retailers across Canada. After Gift Network I spent some time working in television and film production. When I decided I missed my roots in account management I decided to reach out to RentMoola.
3. If you could describe RentMoola in 3 words, what would they be?
A complete no-brainer
4. Who inspires you professionally, and why?
Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, but not for reasons you may think. I admire these men in addition to Melinda Gates for founding “The Giving Pledge” which is a foundation that reaches out to Billionaires and gets them to pledge, at minimum, 50% of their net worth. I admire their foresight and moral code for identifying that our economy will collapse if the wealth disparity continues in the direction it is going. Wealth distribution needs to happen and government is doing nothing about it.

I am a sucker for a good Comedy and there are so many great ones out their. I would have to say my favourite would be Parks & Recreation or 30 Rock with a shout out to the fantastic Rick & Morty and Review.
6. If you had a theme song, what would it be?
I always said if I were in the MLB my walk-up music would be the chorus to “Blunt Ashes” by Nas
7. What’s on your bucket list?
Renting a car and skiing every mountain between Calgary and Vancouver. Also going to every baseball stadium in Major League baseball, although if I never make it to Tropicana Field or The Coliseum I won’t mind.
8. If you could eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
Portuguese Chicken

The best live sports event I have ever been to was during last years MLB playoffs. Game 5 of the ALDS with the crazy seventh inning including the now infamous Bautista bat flip. Picking the best live concert that I’ve ever been to is not possible. I’ve been to too many, hundreds. The most influential show that I have ever been to was my first Tragically Hip show where Gord and the boys made me fall in love with live music. While my tastes have changed since then that show and that band will always have a special place in my heart.
10. If you could choose a super power, what would it be?
I’d choose the ability to freeze time because there just never seems to be enough of it in a day. Also, I’d never be late again.

Asher is an integral part of the RentMoola team, his charisma and work ethic are what make RentMoola such an awesome team to be a part of. Big ups to Asher for his contribution to the team’s ongoing success.
