Meet RentMoola: Andrew McLeod, the Swell Master of Strategy

Nestled in the heart of downtown Vancouver and downtown Toronto, RentMoola team members can be found performing a variety of different roles that make RentMoola the successful business that it is today.

RentMoola “opened for business” in 2013 with three powerhouses behind the wheel: Patrick Postrehovsky, Co-Founder and CEO, Phillipp Postrehovsky, Co-Founder and COO, and Andrew McLeod, CSO.

RentMoola now boasts nearly 30 employees in our Vancouver and Toronto offices to make sure that our product is the very best that it can be, and to make sure that our users have the Cadillac of customer experiences.

One by one, we’re excited to introduce our team members. Each member of our team is here not only because they’re ridiculously talented–but because they love what they do.

Andrew is RentMoola’s Chief Strategic Officer, providing support to ensure the successful deployment of RentMoola’s platform. He knows how to use technology to help merchants and residential tenants to make paying rent rewarding. Andrew has many successful ventures to his name, including being regarded as an up and coming CEO by Atlantic Business Magazine, along with being a landlord and property manager himself. He has developed investor proposals and business plans for some of Canada’s most innovative companies and has consulted on over a dozen business triage and international expansion projects. Get to know a little more about the Swell Master of Strategy, Andrew McLeod.

  1. What is your role at RentMoola?

  1. Give us a short description of your past employment experience that led to your current role at RentMoola.

I’ve always been involved in start-ups! I’ve had a whole bunch in areas from auction sites to action sports, real estate and everything in between. What I loved about RentMoola was that as a property manager myself, I felt the pain point and sold properties specifically because collecting rent was such a pain in the ass!

  1. What has been your greatest achievement working at RentMoola, and how has it shaped you?

My greatest achievement has been helping to build an amazing team that I’m super stoked about personally and professionally. We’ve done a lot in 3 years and it’s all because we’ve got great people. It’s shaped me by allowing me to learn from amazing people who are way smarter and more talented than I am!

  1. If someone wrote a biography about you, what would the title be?

Cheap trucks and dirty’ol Burgers… or something cheesy like “Life Surfing” or “Never Stop Never Stopping” but that was taken by Andy Samberg.

  1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I would love to do a surf trip in the Metawai’s and I would go for the waves and empty line ups!

  1. If you were on an island and could only bring three things, what would you bring?

Surfboard, Kate (wife) and a spear gun. In that order.

  1. If you could trade places with any other person for one week, famous or not, real or fictional, alive or dead, who would it be?

Asher Kirshenbaum. I love that guy.

  1. If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?

Cooking…. I’m a terrible cook.

  1. What motivates you to succeed?

MONEY! Just kidding. Success is a state of loving what you do and the people you do it with.

  1. What does your perfect day look like?

Wake up, eat, surf, close a deal, hang with my RentMoola family, eat, nap, surf, eat and sleep.

Andrew’s work ethic and positive attitude play a huge role in keeping the company’s morale high! Thank you Andrew for being such a great team member, and for all of your hard work and dedication to helping make RentMoola such a big success.
